Efficiency at its Finest

When informing customers of changes within the company, memos and emails only convey so much. There is a difference between what people read and what they hear. When conveying information to employees, it’s best to hold a meeting. Invite everyone to the conference room or another suitable place that can adequately hold everyone that needs to attend the meeting. People are usually visual or auxiliary learners. People tend to remember more information when they can hear and see what’s being conveyed. Also, it guarantees that everyone is on-board with what is expressed. PowerPoint specialists can help to make the presentation easier to follow. People tend to remember things more easily if presentations contain multiple colors and vivid images.

Also, both memos and emails can be missed because of the large amount of emails and other messages employees receive on a daily basis. The average employee can receive anywhere between 50 and 100 emails per day. This happens in large because employees are included on group emails that are not meant specifically for them. The amount of these employees increase when there are multiple offices that network through their computers. Similar names can show up and employees receive random email messages. Employees end up deleting these messages because the information is not pertinent to their needs.

Get employees involved in any process. Encourage them to ask questions. Oftentimes, employees bring up questions or concerns that wasn’t otherwise thought of. Addressing these concerns during a meeting can help anyone else who may have a similar question or concern. There are multiple benefits to holding meetings.

Modern or More Traditional Outdoor Lighting Fixtures

You’re moving into a new home and have spent time choosing just the right table lamps, chandeliers and track lighting for your rooms. In addition to indoor lighting, there are important choices to make concerning outdoor lighting.

Outdoor lighting fixtures might include post or column light fixtures for your walkway, hanging light fixtures and outdoor wall sconces to illumine your porch, deck or garage area. Outdoor lighting fixtures light up yard and doorway areas that you need to be able to safely access in the dark. However, they can also have a decorative function, providing a sense of style to your home’s exterior or calling attention to features of the house.

There are many types of lights to choose from, from traditional looking lights to modern outdoor lighting. Even if you choose a less modern "look", you can take advantage of modern lighting technologies, combining vintage style with contemporary sensibility.

For instance, outdoor sconces sold at Crescent Harbor Modern can range from simple wall mounted orbs with LED lights to outdoor wall lanterns whose styling may remind you of horse and buggy days. Light grills and simple beam or ray lights, either cylindrical or rectangular in shape, are other possibilities.

Post or column lights are sometimes the first thing a guest sees when they come up the walkway. Many lantern styled post lights contain three and four bulbs to provide good coverage. Many also work with standard dimmer switches so you can choose the best level of illumination.

Dear Lola,

Thoughts are flooding my mind now. There are so many things that I want to say to you but I cannot find the right words, I don't know where or how to start. The last words I told you before you passed away, "La, balik lang ko unya ha." And I was thinking about my meetings for that evening when I said those words to you. I was thinking about getting off from work at exactly 5pm so I can drive to Buhangin and pick up the food I ordered for the party that I was supposed to attend that night. I was thinking about skipping the party and having a really good excuse that you're in the hospital and I should be with you. It was heartbreaking you to see you that morning. I wasn't really sure if you recognized me but I was happy when you answered my question that morning. You said you were hungry and I could not take watching you that morning 'cause I know that you're in pain. Maybe you were really hungry that time or maybe you were just really in pain. I wanted to give you food but you were not supposed to eat yet before they can get an ultrasound image of your abdomen. I had to leave that morning with an excuse that it's almost 8 and I'm late for work. But the truth is that I could not stay there and watch you suffer. I wish I could make the pain go away. I said that I'd be back later that day hoping that you would feel better when I get back. But you're already gone when I got back.

La, I was glad that I visited you that day. I don't really care if I was late. That precious moment when I held your hand before I left, I will treasure it. That precious moment when you looked into my eyes is a gift that I will bring with me all through my life. And although I am really sad that you're gone now, I am happy that I have that memory of you.

I cannot really do anything now but relive the memories. That time when we were young and you'd bring a tuuperware full of peanut butter for me and ate Christine. No wonder ate go fat! You never scolded me, and I've never seen you got angry with me. I've spent a lot of summers with you in Mati and I could not forget how enterprising I was with you when I was still young. I'd clean the kiosk and polish it to perfection and you'd give me 5pesos and then I'd spend all of my coins to buy Hebi. I'd sleep in your desk at the palengke where you ran last two. I remember betting numbers back when I was young and I remember you being happy when you won from the numbers I gave you. I remember all the ukay-ukay stuff you gave me. I specially remember that black and white dress we bought from an ukay-ukay stall in Uyanguren back when I was around 8 or 9.

You were such a free-spirited adventurous person. And even when you got sick it did not stop you from going places. I remember having known people that I've known before who turned out to be our relatives when you brought me in Panabo. Even when you had a hard time walking we still went out of town just so you can be with our relatives and play tong-its.

I've learned a lot from you, la. I've learned to share what little I have, and I've learned to be hardworking. I will surely miss you and the values you've shown us when you were still alive.

You've lived a full and happy life. Thank you la for the time you spent with me, with us. I LOVE YOU!

BMW X 5 in Davao City

Fasten your seat belts as BMW announces the launching of its newest Sport Activity Vehicle, X5! Guests were treated to a luxurious test drive last June 14, 2014 at Las Terrazas Clubhouse, Maa, Davao City. I was one of the eager and excited hopefuls who wanted to test drive BWW X5 but cowardice took over me. I ended up being a passenger - twice! And I supported my friends as they drove away with the coolest car in the world.

Watch our videos below:

Beautiful girls in a tough car is the sexiest thing to see! BMW X5 has a lot of features that could not be found in other cars. The interior design is  made of top-quality leather and provides maximum comfort for its passengers. It can comfortable seat 5 including the driver. The rear has got some ample space for your big bags in case you're going for some out-of-town trips.

I may not know much about cars but BMW is a real love-at-first-drive. We were able to test features such as Hill Descent where you need not step on the accelerator to increase or decrease your speed, you have the controls right at your fingertips! Yes, you heard it right. Increase or decrease your speed using the controls found in the steering wheel!

Consumption is estimated at 16 kilometers per liter (diesel). That's pretty good for a big vehicle. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/hr in a matter of 6 seconds. Plus, you just need to push a button to park and lift the hand break with your finger, how easy is that?

When you're at a full stop, there is a feature that completely turns off the engine enabling you to save fuel and you only need to step on the accelerator to turn it back on and drive. That's specially helpful in situations where there's heavy traffic.

What I've also noticed about the BMW X5 is that it is very stable. When we were cruising at the speed of 100 km/hr, the BMW staff emphasized how the active steering wheel technology provides stability in driving. The feature automatically activates when you're driving at high speed.

It's obvious from our videos that we truly enjoyed the test drive. The X5 costs around P6Million and I'm pretty sure that it's really worth it.

Another car featured during the event is this red heart-breaker BMW 420-d Couple Sport which I really wanted to test drive but sadly, it was off limits. I hope I could bring home one of these in the near future.
