Blogging at home

It has been four years since I started blogging... I remember we had Smart Bro here at home in 2005. I was a fresh CPA board passer, unemployed, eager to earn. It was before I started our restaurant business that my efforts and interest were inclined to blogging, and earning through blogs. I was introduced to Google Adsense, and a whole lot more of SEOs, marketing affiliates, text-link-ads, market reviews, and the like. I only stuck with Google Adsense, which I found very suitable to the lazy me.

I am not a web techie, and learning about html (it was just html before....) gave me nosebleeds!!! Now, we have click and drag widgets which makes us design our websites faster and easier.

Four years ago, I had a passion to write. Creative writing was one of the things I loved most. Now, I don't know  when and where the word "creative" got lost in my writing skills. Somewhere along the way, between reading law books and answering legal essays, my writing style has evolved into a more mature, and straight-forward way.

Back in college, I loved to write love stories. It was James' love story that I wrote first. He was teary-eyed after reading it. Hahaha! That was worth remembering... Or is it? Let me clarify that... The fact that James was teary-eyed after reading his story is worth remembering.... But what's written in that story isn't. Period.

By mid 2006, I got disconnected from the cyber world because I enrolled in Law School and juggled auditing engagements at the same time. I was not totally disconnected because I could still use some internet time during my free time at work but it was just not the same when you have your own internet connection at home. But still, I did not stop blogging. I received three Adsense paychecks since I started blogging. I did not really pay much attention with internet earnings because I was nicely paid by my regular job. But my passive income has somehow helped me with my finances. Not that it was the source of my income considering that the earnings could barely pay for my annual internet connection (I'm earning cents compared to pro-bloggers). But I remember buying myself and my siblings some bunch of swimsuits on my first paycheck. Why swimsuits? Because my highest-earner blog is Swimgear which is about travelling, and mostly about my beach escapades. Hahahah! My second paycheck was used to pay for my Amway membership. It was just like passive income paying for another passive-income-earner venture. I deposited my third paycheck in a bank.

Maybe I could have earned more if I had continuous internet connection at home. Maybe I could have enrolled in other work-from-home opportunities aside from Google Adsense. Maybe I could have cashed-out my millions in Mafia wars (yes, I got addicted to it and all those Socail Notworking sites for a while)

There are a lot of students who are already pro-bloggers. That's an inspiration. Maybe if every person would use their internet time wisely, then they could be rich by now.
