Gracie's activity during our recent Mati trip was to collect lots and lots of sea shells. She was in her swimsuit but because the waves were really huge that time, she skipped the ocean and instead hiked on to where the shells are. She picked up around half a litter of shells and even found this sea urchin at the beach:

We checked in at Botona Beach Resort during our trip. Room rates are at P2,000 per night. Each room has 2 large beds. You may ask for additional mattresses, too.

The resort has a restaurant but there's nothing much on their menu. What's great, though, is that you can buy some fresh catch early in the morning and you could ask their kitchen staff to cook it for you!

Botona Beach Resort only has 4 rooms available for guests. Although this seems to be too few for a resort, it actually helps a lot in keeping the place peaceful and more secure. They also accept day tour guests which they accommodate at the cottages on the beach side area.
The room that we got had a huge veranda, and this is where we usually eat.
Nighttime comes and if you're looking for a bar, you won't find it here. Nonetheless, you can relax and feel the fresh breeze at the beach. We spent some quality time with our relatives just talking and having fun.

The ambiance in Botona Beach Resort is very suitable for family outings, specially when bringing lots of children. The resort has constructed a breakwater which is really helpful in blocking the huge waves. Children could now enjoy swimming in the beach without their parents worrying that much.
