Social Media and Me

Way back in 2006, when I was a Junior Auditor in a small firm here in Davao, downloadable and editable BIR Forms were almost inexistent. Yes, forms were readily available in the BIR’s website, but no, you cannot edit them.

Filling up of forms would mean either writing it manually or using the typewriter.  It’s absurd to think that you can print from an excel file but you cannot use the full potential of the software and the computer to do and complete your job. Due to that absurdity, I got an idea to edit the excel files, make those little cells functional, align textboxes, and spend hours refurbishing BIR Forms. When I’m done with one file, I upload it online and make it available to the public for free.

After a few years, I saw the same problem with SEC Forms like Registration Data Sheets and Company Data Maintenance Forms. It’s sad to know that these forms are only available in our SEC offices as hard copies. Because of that, I was also challenged to do the SEC Forms and upload it as well on my blog. The files can be downloaded for free at http://sweetaccountant.blogspot.com and I try my best to edit and upload more files when I have the time.

Because of my blog, I am able to help some auditors and accountants. My blog might have no page rank and no income but I know that it is one of the tools that make taxpayers' lives easy. Thanks to blogging, I'm able to share some really really good and helpful things.

On a more serious note, the Twitterific people have been really active and helpful in rescue operations. Modern bayanihan has been  manifested on how the Filipino people have used social media in order to help their kababayans.

And of course, of all the social media platforms available, my favorite is Facebook! It's where I can share photos and most easily connect with my friends. And most importantly, it's the way for me to communicate with my love life. Haha!
Good vibes!
