January
In an attempt to burn all the bulges from the holiday binges, me and my friends went to Dahican to surf. I can say that I did well on surfing but unfortunately, that was my first and only surfing time for 2013. I went to Dahican about three times on 2013 and January was the only time I got to surf.
January was also the month when I started my partnerships with various non-government organizations active in human rights.
February
We were very happy to have a taste of our aromatic buko harvested right from our front yard.
March
March was the time when I got inducted as a regular member of JCI Duwaling.
April
April had me busy with various trainings and partnership events with NGOs. I attended trainings sponsored by APILA and also renewed partnerships with Mindanao Migrants.
A sad sight, that buko juice you saw from February, the tree that gave the fruit had to be cut down. It's so sad and though this cutting has received a lot of objections, we really can't do anything about it.
June
Another visit to Dahican. This time, we woke up at 4am to catch the sunrise. No surfing for me because it was that time of the month when girls just don't want to do anything but sleep.... Hmmm...
I got the leopard-print yoga mat that I bought from Amazon. I was so happy! And, this is the mid-year attempt to get fit.
August
It was my first time to join a race, an all-out race. It was a crazy and fun experience!
September
Our plans to go to Baguio has been cancelled. Instead, we went to the Province of Ilocos and explored the northern part of the Philippines. I've been exposed to eating a lot of vegetables in this trip and I did not complain, I even ate ampalaya (bitter gourd)! It was a happy experience for me and beau. This was our first attempt at budget travelling and I think we failed at it. Lol! See my posts here: Ilocos Day 1. Ilocos Day 2. Ilocos Day 3.
October
I had two trips for October: Iloilo with the JCI Duwaling ladies and Boracay with family. The trip to Iloilo was for the JCI National Convention and we were surprised to receive two major awards: Best Youth Activities for the Youth Leadership Summit we conducted during April and Best New Local Organization. Aside from these two major awards, our candidate for Ms. JCI Philippines 2013 also brought home the crown! It was a triple celebration for the Duwaling ladies.
It was our first family trip after a long time. Too bad that our only boy was not able to join this trip because of his school examination.
November
November was a bad month for the Philippines because of Typhoon Yolanda. This month, Bloggers For Relief PH was launched by the Davao Bloggers Society in order to raise funds for Project Hygiene Kit. At the end of the project, we were able to turnover 1,115 Hygiene Kits.
December
We couldn't be complete for Christmas because ate Christine is in Iloilo to work. But, at the first week of December, our little Gracie got hospitalized and it forced ate Christine to come home. So basically, we were complete two weeks before Christmas.
