It's Christmas time and this holiday is the most expensive season with all the gifts, food, and amount spent of Christmas vacations. A lot of holiday makers would always want to unwind, relax, or spend some time away from their usual routine and thus, would really make plans in going out of town or spending the holiday in some resorts or far away place.

  1. I think that those are not really the top reasons why people spend in the holidays. My take is that their supply of money is! Think about it--people get bonuses, gifts and rewards during this season that's why they have the power to use these resources to buy gifts for others. Another is that consumers spend more as they feel the economy and their personal financial situation is improving.

  2. They spend much on traveling, but of course when you travel you always want to spend less as much as possible but you want to have the best experience. However, it's hard to do that way, because the food itself will really cost you, then there is the rental and everything.

  3. Definitely the top 10 reasons. Especially for numbers 1, 3 and 6. Those are really the things that holiday lovers love to overspend, afterall it's just for once in a while - why not spoil yourself for it.

  7. Not to be critical but while this presents some really good data, they are completely unhelpful to Filipinos. A small tweak in the messaging - perhaps comparing the infographic side by side with data on Filipinos going to the USA for the holidays - would have REALLY helped...

  10. People tend to overspend during the holidays because they get extra money from 13th month pay and bonuses and spend more than the earn. That's what the holiday rush do.

    My Top 3 are actually Food, Gifts and Clothes. I always overspend on these things every year and couldn't help it. LOL.

  12. Good thing in the Philippines we have 13 month, 14th month and all the bonuses!!! Here in the US we don't have any!!!! .. and yes! we overspend!!! - all c/o credit! lol!
