Well, I never found it cute. And Filipino teenagers look awful trying to copy the cuteness meme. Girls, please stop trying to be Korean because you're Filipinos. It doesn't look natural, it's over acting. It is as if trying to establish a standard that you have to do those stupid moves so that others may find you cute. (It's like that kind of brainwashing that media has created in saying that only fair-skinned ladies are beautiful, or that being stick-thin is sexy!).
Girls, get real!
On a lighter note, this article does not, in any way, affect my love for Nobody by Wondergirls and Gangnam Style by Psy.

i couldn't agree more :DD
ReplyDeletehahahaha! may gwiyomi vid ako ms swexie! whoa! =))
ReplyDeleteHahaha! I will never watch that video. =p
DeleteIt's not only the Filipinos who are emulating Korean stars and dancers. There are also nationalities such as the Singaporeans and other Asians who even go through the knife (plastic surgery) to look like their favorite Korean idols.
ReplyDeleteIt's scary that these "kids" are too image conscious that they would really undergo cosmetic surgery just to look like somebody else!
DeleteI don't really like it that nonsensical music and dance crazes are popping up every few weeks or so O_o and the public embraces them! Sigh.
ReplyDeleteMe too! It would have been better if these popular music and dances would make sense.
DeleteI got curious na tuloy about this gwiyomi vid, maka watch nga para nde ako ma behind sa latest craze in town ;)
ReplyDeleteYou should watch it ate Sarah, and then tell me your reaction about it.
DeleteI think I'm old now as I don't know what craze teens are in but Gangnam and Nobody are great songs.
ReplyDeleteI share your sentiment, maybe I'm too old to keep up with the teens.
DeleteK-pop is just a sensation which kids love these days, actually it's just the looks that they like.
ReplyDeleteHad nothing to do with this teen stuff. But I like the Nobody song.
ReplyDeleteand just like all the rest of the trends we've ball seen, this gwiyomi thing is going to die soon.. :)
ReplyDeleteoh! I don't have any idea what this is all about ha!ha! generation gap, that is!
ReplyDeleteLOL, I thought this was by Vice Ganda...hahahaha
ReplyDeleteHahahaha! From what I've read, Vice Ganda had this on GGV
DeleteI can't relate to this probably because of my age. But you are absolutely right. Girls get your own identity and act like a Filipino
ReplyDeleteI hate to admit it but I actually don't know what this latest craze is all about. You have made me curious enough to check it out.
ReplyDeleteI only learned about this when Vice Ganda started doing such on national television making everyone else in the show do it too. And I was like "WHAT???" o_O And then the next day, everyone else in my facebook timeline does the same thing. I mean really, if you're not cute and does this Gwiyomi thing... SOOO VERY UNBECOMING! eeeik!
ReplyDeleteHahahaha! Good thing this craze came out after our politicians have rehearsed for their meeting de avance. Otherwise, some would probably dance this and I could not imagine how it would go!
DeleteI'm a fan of Korean dramas and food. But I never wanted to look like a Korean. I super love my dark-skin :>
ReplyDeleteI just saw this gwiyomi thing when a friend posted a video on facebook! I don't know why teens get crazy on songs they don't even understand. XD
ReplyDeleteI don't find it cute too.. I just don't get it hahaha generation gap maybe hehe
ReplyDeleteI think most Filipino teenagers like it because of the influence of the K-pop. My cousin also like Korean songs and other stuff.
ReplyDeleteIt's cute if the one doing it is cute. But Vice Ganda, geeez...
